Augustus
Bulleit's family were brandy distllers in France that moved to New Orleans around 1800 and then on to Louisville Kentucky in 1830 where they opened a tavern and began distilling whisky. Frontiersman heading west would stock up on Bulleit Bourbon before their treks. Augustus died transporting his whiskey back to New Orleans in 1860.
